Prof. Pratip Kar (Strategic Advisor, Globsyn Group)

Mr. Pratip Kar is a well known Finance specialist with an experience of over 30 years in the field, a major part of which was devoted to the securities market. An academically inclined professional, Mr. Kar’s interest areas are teaching and research in corporate governance; regulation and development of securities market, establishing regulatory architecture for securities market in emerging market. A key contributor to the transformation of the Indian securities market and in the formulation and implementation of policy for developing, modernizing and regulating Indian securities market in his capacity as Executive Director of SEBI, Mr. Kar has also served as the Dean of Finance and Corporate Governance at the Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC). He has also worked with Stern Business School, Harvard Business School and Ross School of Management of Michigan University in delivering programmes on leadership and strategy at TMTC. A prolific writer, Mr. Kar has a number of publications to his name and is a regular contributor to financial broadsheets such as Economic Times, Financial Express, Business Standard etc.

Mr. Utpal Sengupta

Utpal SenGupta, a Mechanical Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a MBA Gold Medalist from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad led the US Foods major ConAgra's affiliate in India, Agro Tech Foods Ltd. (ATFL) as President and CEO for eleven years. During his tenure Agro Tech Foods developed from an edible oils company to a Rs. 1,000 crores integrated packaged foods business. Before joining ConAgra and ATFL, he worked for the consumer products giant Unilever in India and abroad for twenty-four years. He was also the Chairman of the AP state chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) during 2008-09. He has also been past Chairman of CII's National Committee on Food Processing and Chairman of CII's Foodpro '99. He has lectured on different topics at the premier management institutions in the country. Mr. SenGupta started a programme called 'Feeding Children Better' while working with ATFL and is actively associated with several institutions engaged in providing education, nutrition and healthcare to underprivileged children in different parts of the country. 

Mr. Wayne Rivers

Wayne Rivers is the co-founder and President of The Family Business Institute, Inc. He has authored three books on the subject of business families: The Top Nine Reasons Family Businesses Fail – And the Eight Building Blocks for Creating a SUSTAINABLE Closely Held Business, Prescriptions for a Healthy Family Business, and You Don’t Have To Die To Win – Success and Succession for Family Businesses. Wayne has been quoted on the subject of family and closely held businesses by The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Business Week, Entrepreneur, CFO, Family Business, The New York Times, Washington Post, Crain’s Chicago Business, Crain's New York Business, and The San Francisco Business. Wayne is a member of the Closely Held Business Committee of The Associated General Contractors of America. He has also recently completed The Family Firm Institute Certificate in Family Business Advising Program; this program benefits both family business advisors and their clients by establishing knowledge standards for better serving family-owned enterprises.

Dr. Timothy Sterns

Timothy M. Stearns is the holder of the Coleman Foundation Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies and Executive Director of the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University. Professor Stearns received his MBA degree in management and a doctorate in management/sociology from Indiana University. He previously was a member of the Management faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Marquette University. He has served on the editorial board of the Academy of Management Journal and currently services on the editorial boards of the Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Small Business Management. Professor Stearns has co-authored a textbook on management and is the author of more than 75 research articles and presentations. He has taught and lectured on entrepreneurship and innovation to students and executives in Thailand, Poland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, Germany, and the Peoples Republic of China. He currently serves as past Chair of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management. In 2007, Professor Stearns won the prestigious Wang Family Excellence Award given each year to 4 faculty members selected from the 23 campus wide California State System. He is also a member of the Regional Jobs Initiative Executive Committee and the Fresno Mayor’s Creative Economy Council. 

Mr. Bikram Dasgupta

An alumnus of Harvard Business School and IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Bikram Dasgupta is an entrepreneur of repute – a man with a vision. An innovator, thinker, a passionate speaker, Bikram is an out-of-the-box thinker, who strongly believes in 'ordinary people can do extraordinary things…' He foresaw the need for a business model built around the fundamental concepts of Infrastructure and Institution to service the knowledge economy and in 1997 conceptualized Globsyn as a group of companies, which embodied that vision. Today under Mr. Dasgupta's tutelage Globsyn has developed key competencies in each of the verticals that it operates in.

Dr. Prithviraj S. Banerjee

Dr. Prithiviraj S. Banerjee has done his doctoral studies from Florida State University, USA with concentration in finance. An MS in Finance from Boston College, USA Dr. Banerjee has taught investments, derivatives, corporate finance, financial markets and institutions, and quantitative methods in business etc. in many US and Indian colleges and institutes. His notable works include articles on The Forecasting Power of the Risk and Sentiment Components of Implied Volatility (co-author), and Impact of 1992 Energy Policy Act on Financial Policies of Investor Owned Utilities. He has also referred many international journal articles. Prior to joining Globsyn he was associated with Boston College (USA), Florida State University (USA), University of Akron (USA), and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (India).

Mr. Saibal Chatterjee

Mr. Chatteljee, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of his own business, Lokenath Chatterjee & Sons (Precision Tools). Lokenath Chatterjee & Sons has a global presence with customers and agents all over Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. His company exports 90% of its production, and concentrates on research and development in order to keep pace with the rapid changes in modern technology. He has a licensing agreement with a reputed company in Switzerland. In the USA, his company does private branding for two leading machine tool manufacturers based in Idaho and Chicago. He has lectured at the University of Lowell in Boston, USA and at International Business School, University of Amem in Holland.

Mr. Rajesh Jain

Mr. Rajesh Jain (FCA), has more than 20 years of experience working with and advising family businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial firms in various areas like Business Strategy & Growth, Drafting Family Policies and Constitutions, conflict resolution, and succession planning, to name a few. He is also a finance and management consultant, trainer, writer and public speaker of international repute. Mr. Jain has authored two books and published several articles on Family Business.

Mr. Kalyan Kar

Kalyan oversees the strategy, growth, development and day-to-day operations for Acclaris’  three service centers in India. Prior to joining the company, he served as Executive Director and Founder, Sunny Technologies, India, leading off-shore BPO operations for clients in the US & Australia. Kalyan also has extensive experience in transaction processing with a number of large Indian corporations, including CESC Ltd., one of India's oldest (100+ years) and largest ($ 550 million in sales) utility companies. He is a Commerce Graduate, a Chartered Accountant as well as a Cost Accountant. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Kalyan is very active in the Indian business community. 

Mr. Vasant Subramanyan

Vasant Subramanyan is the promoter of all the companies in the LastPeak Group, all of whom are existing ITeS providers with a continuous track record of deliverables registered with the Software Technology Parks of India. The companies have been operating as offshore service organizations for various healthcare companies in the US, and have been able to create employment opportunities in Kolkata. He has also been a consultant in IT to various new technology ventures in the US, which have seen the convergence of various platforms in data, voice and picture capture. He has enabled the creation of new platforms of convergence in telephony instruments that have resulted in new product rollouts and has worked as a process integration consultant on "next gen" smart phones and converged devises. Vasant is a former international corporate compliance & financial administration consultant, and former multi-national F200 consultant on cross-border trade, statutory compliance, and M&A. He is a business transactor in North America, Asia, UK/Europe, with a proven track record of US customer satisfaction. 

Ms. Jayshree Rammohan

Ms. Rammohan has done her masters in Management Studies (Finance) from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research. She has an extensive experience in editing while being a member of the Editorial Team, IIM Library. She also edited the Information Bulletin on Management. She has also worked in financial appraisal in the area of loans for various organizations including Citibank. As a faculty she has been associated with Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Faculty of Applied Management, CEPT University and Institute of Management, Nirma University.

Dr. Shantanu Mehta

Dr. Shantanu Mehta is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and he has earned Ph. D. for his research in Mutual Fund Disclosures norms. He has 22 years industry experience mainly in financial institution and capital market and 7 years teaching experience at postgraduate in business management. He worked with GSFC, UTI, NSE stockbroker, and a merchant banker. He has hard-core experience in area of accounts, project appraisal, mutual funds, money market, stock broking, IPO and private placement of equity and venture capital. Dr Mehta has completed many consultancy assignments and conducted training programmes of many corporate.

Mr. Ajay Dixit

Ajay Dixit: More than 3 decades of experience in the field of Entrepreneurship Development at national as well as international level. An experienced Business Counselor, specializes in training of trainers and existing entrepreneurs for their growth. His academic interest lies in teaching ‘Family Business Management’, ‘Entrepreneurship’, Social Entrepreneurship & CSR development. Also provides capacity building support to NGO’s and is involved in developing Social Enterprises.

Ms. Sumita Baisya


As Deputy General Manager she headed the Ahmedabad Region of IDBI Home Finance Ltd and successfully brought the organization to a stage where the market share in the home loan market reached almost 5 % in 2 years time from nil presence. Ms Baisya  also worked as Deputy Manager of Gujarat Lease Financing Ltd, Ahmedabad contributing to the phenomenal growth of the Company’s annual bills portfolio from Rs 17 crores to Rs 250 crores in 4 years time. She is a performance driven professional with 16+ years experience in business development, credit appraisal and operations of corporate finance and retail products in financial services. Invaluable experience in the resource mobilization was acquired during a year’s exposure to the resource department at GLFL. 

Mr. Alay Desai


Mr. Desai has done his BE (Electronics & Computer Engineering) from LD Engineering, Ahmedabad. He has done MS (Electrical & Computer Engg) from Rutgers, USA and MBA (Finance & Strategy) from Wharton, USA. Mr. Desai worked in various offices of MICROSOFT CORPORATION, in USA as Manager, Director (Business Development) and Identified new mobile business opportunity for the Microsoft Business Division (MBD) and Worked across 11 teams within 3 divisions. He negotiated deals with all major US mobile operators and convinced the operators to move forward with the trials before the deals were signed allowing the service to be in the market faster. Mr. Desai was awarded cross-group Gold Star for making significant contributions to the company. He was also the founder and CTO of STARIO INC., California and successfully directed use of innovative integration architecture to reduce sales and implementation cycle by 33% and to 3 weeks respectively. 

Mr. Subhasish Banerjee


Mr.Banerjee, an alumnus of IIT Delhi (M.Tech) and SLIMS (MBA), has 26 years of experience at very senior level positions in companies like Arvind Mills, Suzlon, United Spinners (Nigeria), Grasim, Modern Denim, etc. With a group of very talented and experienced professionals in Arvind, Grasim and other overseas companies, Mr. Banerjee implemented various systems like ERP, Supply chain, Lean Management, TQM and TPM, Production planning and control using SAP System, etc. 

Dr. Ashwini Awasthi


Prof. Awasthi has 21 years of experience in industry and academia. He has worked for a decade in Indian, and multinational corporations in sales and marketing line. He has been consulting and involved in teaching management courses for many years. He is a member of professional bodies, and has consulted to United Nations Development Projects, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, Non Government Organizations, and entrepreneurs.
